Dog Helplessly Has To Be Surrendered To Shelter As This Boy Wants To Protect It From His Abusive Dad

Pets are to be loved and cared for, not to be beaten. Sadly, some people do not understand that. This pup being taken to the shelter is a hard decision this boy and his mother have made to protect it from the abusive dad.

The boy, 12 years old, left his dog on the doorstep of Xollin shelter, the Mexican state of Michoacan. He didn’t forget to put a toy for the pup and a note written by himself:

“My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him.”

“I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me.”

After the shelter shared the story in their Facebook post on February 13, over 300 people from all around the world offered to adopt the beautiful pup. On one hand, they fell for the little dog with round eyes and an adorable face. It looked absolutely sweet and cute. On the other hand, they criticized the father for his abusive behaviors.

The puppy, named Rene by the shelter, was taken to the vet to check his condition.

“We need to take the dog to the vet so he can check his tail, which apparently is fractured. We also need to remove parasites and get him a check-up. This means more expenses and work for us, but luckily the dog will be safe,” said the staff at the animal shelter.

He stayed under Xollin shelter’s care until he was finally able to find his loving home. Annually, the shelter receives hundreds of abandoned cats and dogs who desperately need someone to offer them the love and care they deserve. The shelter wish these pets can their own homes, too!

“If everyone opened their heart and their home like this little dog, they would have adopted all our dogs from the shelter.”
